Everything began with the dream of a great man: Leopoldo Cardenas, who came to the United States with a single purpose—to support his family. With that determination, he opened his first store, Celia’s Supermercado, in Cedartown, Georgia. From that very moment, the story began to be written.
As time went on, more stores came, along with moments of joy, but also hardships that left a deep mark on the heart of the Cardenas family. Life, in its infinite wisdom, brought together additional dreamers with the same purpose: Gerardo Cardenas, son of Leopoldo, who carried the family business and over time was joined by Eder Cifuentes and David Herrera, who shared the same goals and the same passion. Since then, the history of Talpa has been marked by challenges, lessons, growth, and above all, unity.

Thanks to those dreamers today, Talpa Supermarkets reaches the tables of thousands of families in Georgia and Tennessee with the best and finest selection of Latin American products. But Talpa is not just a supermarket: it is a family.
That drive to bring the best open doors, created direct and indirect jobs, and became a source of opportunities for the community.
